This illustration of David and Goliath is still in its early stages. What you are looking at is a tight pencil drawing on watercolor paper. I am still undecided if this will be a black and white or color illustration upon completion. I still need to add some background elements including the stream where David collected his stones. I plan to post the different stages of this piece up to the final.
I am currently working on a new 5 print portfolio tentatively titled "AGES OF HEROISM" and this piece will undoubtedly be included.
Interestingly, this illustration is really a remake of a watercolor painting I did over 10 years ago. In that version I had Goliath in nothing but a loin cloth. It was dynamic but not very historically accurate. What he is wearing in this version is closer in truth to what little is known about ancient Philistine Armor.
